Recent technological breakthrough in high speed processing units and communication devices have enabled the development of high data compression schemes. This paper presents a modified scheme for Run length encoding (RLE). Run length encoding algorithm performs compression of input data based on sequences of identical values. RLE is having some limitations and they have been highlighted and discussed in detail in this paper. In RLE largest number of sequences may increase the number of bits to represents the length of each run, which may increase the size of memory stack which may results in performance degradation. For n-bit run it requires 2n memory stack. If run is greater than n bits we require 2n+1 memory stack to store the run value. An efficient coding technique, Bitstuffing has been suggested in this paper. A new bit different from the original sequence is added in between reduces the repeat length, thereby with the same stack we can represent length as well. This technique is described using VHDL and is implemented on Saprtan3 FPGA.

In this work, a method to reduce electroencephalogram (EEG) artifacts from Visual-Evoked Potentials (VEP) in brain-computer interface (BCIs) design is presented. For the test composite signal the frequency ranges corresponding to stimulus-related VEP components were located using cyclo stationary (CS) analysis based algorithm. The resulting cyclic frequency spectrum provides VEP frequency band detection. Using this identified frequency ranges, low pass or band pass filtering is employed for EEG artifacts reduction. The proposed Statistical Coefficient Selection (SCS) and wavelet-based method called Wavelet Denoising Algorithm (WDA) are used to distinguish VEP components and EEG artifacts. Background/Objectives: Among a gamut of evolving domains in medicine exchange of medicinal data and images amid multiple entities constitutes a pivotal aspect for telemedicine. An effective bandwidth allocation and management scheme is essential to accomplish the telemedicine communication requirements. This necessitates the requisite to develop and implement a compression and encryption scheme for medical images. Methods: This paper recapitulates the diverse transformation techniques employed in compression and identifies the constraints associated with the techniques. This paper summarizes the comparison of encryption methods such as Rivest Cipher 4(RC4), Rivest Cipher 2(RC2) and Data Encryption Standard (DES) in terms of time consumed to complete encryption and decryption operations. Findings: This paper considers Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Compression Ratio (CR) as performance measures and establishes the proposed algorithms's effectiveness over Set Partitioning Hierarchical Trees (SPIHT). Application: This algorithm can be utilized for medical image compression, transfer and archiving operations.Keywords

Background/Objectives: In multimedia data communication environment a trade-off shall be opted between power, spectrum needs and wireless channel capacity in Global System for Mobile, Long Term Evaluation, and Wireless Local Area Networks applications. Multi-Input Multi-Output antenna elements display a high degree of similarity and it leads to efficacy reduction in multi user milieu. Methods: This paper investigates and presents a condensed 2-port coax fed multiband MIMO antenna for 4G applications. The proposed MIMO antenna possesses dimensions of 45mm×50mm×0.4mm3 and comprises two layers, a rectangular patch, a pair of small-N shaped strips, two G-shaped monopole structures and L-shaped slots. An array of three resonant frequencies is opted for exciting the proposed design with the values of 1.8GHz, 2.5GHz and 5GHz. The methodology exhibits an adaptable frequency selecting with the ability to neutralize the impact of the other frequency. Findings: The implemented design accomplishes a high efficiency rates for LTE-Advanced, WiMAX and Wi-Fi applications 71.80%, 72.28% and 85.74%. Applications/Improvements: Fabrication with a suitable FR4 substrate material is used in the design of the coax fed multiband MIMO antenna. For future enhancements, the radiation pattern and reflection coefficient of an antenna shall be assessed.Keywords

Background: In Current VLSI circuits, e.g., Modules like accumulators, Arithmetic Logic Units (ALUs) are present generally in information line structure or discrete signal Processing chips. ABIST has a basic idea that is used by accumulators for built-in testing and its generated test patterns show the hardware overhead degradation and decreased circuit speed. Method: In the present system this paper use a scheme which holds a generation of test patterns and is compared with previously proposed scheme. The test patterns created by accumulator proves that it takes input produced by a constant pattern holding an acceptable pseudo random individuality, if a proper input pattern is selected. Weighed pseudorandom BIST schemes were utilized to bring down the vector number in BIST applications. Findings: For the generation of test patterns, we use a group which has 0, 1 and 0.5 weights and this group is an impartial group and this use will lower the time needed for testing and also reduces power used. In the above work, digital circuits such as G27 Bench mark and SISO are, accumulator based BIST. Finally, the synthesis results of these circuits are compared with normal BIST. It was found that the circuit as low delay using accumulator based BIST.Keywords

This paper is about comparison between PID tuning method and PI predictive control in the conical tank process. The level control becomes quite typical due to the nonlinear shape of tank. Many process industries use conical tanks because of its shape contributes to better drainage of solid mixtures, slurries and viscous liquids. So control of conical tank presents a challenging problem due to its non-linearity and constantly changing cross-section. A conventional PID controller is used to control the conical tank system based upon tuning rules. From the knowledge of ultimate gain and ultimate frequency, we can obtain the tuning parameters by using ZN-Closed loop method. Predictive PI control (PIP) has the advantage that it manages to predict the measurement signal even when the process has along dead time and when the measurement signal is noisy.

Leadership style plays an important role in influencing the employees of any organization and this research study is focused on three star hotel employees in Tamilnadu.The study was made with conceptual model famed by Ronald clark (2009). The study has the following objectives: to analyze the impact of participative and empowering styles of leadership qualities on frontline ECSQ; to assess the relationship among employees’ attributes and to analyze the mediating role of participative and empowering leadership styles on MCSQ and the employees’ role clarity; to assess the mediating role of participative and empowering leadership styles on commitment to service quality by management and the employees’ shared customer oriented values and to access the mediating role of participative and empowering leadership styles on MCSQ and the employees’ job satisfaction.
Based on the objectives fourteen hypotheses have been framed to test the significance of the influence of the leadership styles with employees’ job satisfaction, role clarity and shared customer oriented values. Two sets of questionnaires based on standard scales were used in the study, one for managers of the hotels and other for the front line employees of the hotel. Boot strapping was performed to obtain the statistical significance of path coefficients using a t-test. The indirect and total effects were measured using Smart PLS. Sobels`s test was performed for mediation analysis.
The findings of the research are (i) participative leadership style is found to be the more suitable style of leadership for Hotel managers since it has significant influence of employees attributes of satisfaction in job, clarity in role shared values. Besides the other findings are also presented.

The research objective is about finding the customer satisfaction of domestic tourists visiting resorts. On the tourism marketing point of view knowing the tourist expectations is important and what satisfies them and what did not satisfy the tourists should also be found out to take necessary corrective actions. Study on customer satisfaction in resorts in India is scarce and hence this study is initiated. It is a primary research done with standard questionnaires being issued to family tourists who visited resorts in Mahabalipuram and a modified Servqual model has been used in this study with five constructs namely reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangibility, which constitute the functional aspects of a resort. Judgment sampling method was used in the study. Five hypotheses were framed and tested using SPSS and Smart PLS Softwares. Customer satisfaction with respect of the five aspects related to the service quality has been evaluated. The results show that all the five aspects did influence the customer satisfaction of the tourists. The level of customer satisfaction of tourists was found to be good. Tourists were found to give more importance for the reliability aspect in resorts.Keywords
